Designer Press Maxwell completed Conquistador Golf Course, a public course, in 1963 and it has an excellent playing surface and beautiful surroundings with views of La Plata Peak, Mesa Verde and Sleeping Ute Mountain. Mostly flat and lined by Ponderosa Pine and pinon trees, Conquistador is a championship 18 hole course complete with sand traps, water hazards, practice driving range and putting green. Other amenities include a full service Pro Shop with Pro on Duty, Club and Cart Rentals, Snack Bar, Lessons and more. Conquistador is open March 1st through November 15th depending on the weather. Tee times are accepted three days in advance. Call 970-565-9208 to arrange tee times.
